報(bào)告題目: Dynamical analysis of a simple two-stage tumor-immune model

報(bào)告摘要: In this talk, we propose a simple two-stage model on the interaction between tumor cells and lymphocytes. The model incorporates a linear function to represent the effect of tumor antigen stimulation and a logistic growth for tumors in the absence of immune response. We analyze the oscillatory behavior of tumor levels from three perspectives: the intrinsic growth rate, the killing rate of lymphocytes against tumor cells, and the stimulation effect of tumor antigens on the immune system. Theoretical analysis of Hopf bifurcation reveals the distinct differences

among these factors. Oscillations occur between two critical values for the intrinsic growth rate and the killing rate of lymphocytes, while for the stimulation effect of tumor antigens, there is a single critical value that triggers the oscillation. Numerical simulations show that strong

tumor antigen stimulation can induce long-term dormancy in tumor growth. Furthermore, we establish the equivalence between the local and global stability of the tumor-free equilibrium using the fluctuation lemma and derive a sufficient condition on the global attractivity of the tumor-

present equilibrium by constructing auxiliary convergent sequences.

報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介:陳玉明,分別于1991年和1994年從北京大學(xué)獲應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)士學(xué)位和碩士學(xué)位,并于2000年從加拿大約克大學(xué)獲理學(xué)博士學(xué)位20009月至20016月在加拿大阿爾伯塔大學(xué)做博士后。從20017月起,一直任教于加拿大羅瑞爾大學(xué)?,F(xiàn)為該校數(shù)學(xué)系教授、博士生導(dǎo)師。主要研究興趣為動(dòng)力系統(tǒng)和泛函微分方程理論及其在生物數(shù)學(xué)和神經(jīng)網(wǎng)絡(luò)中的應(yīng)用。已在包括SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis,Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, Nonlinearity, Journal of Differential Equations, Physica D-Nonlinear Phenomena,Mathematical Biosciences, Neural Networks等國(guó)際著名刊物發(fā)表論文一百三十余篇,其成果被同行廣泛引用,曾獲安大略省科技與創(chuàng)新部早期研究者獎(jiǎng)。主持了5項(xiàng)加拿大國(guó)家自然科學(xué)與工程理事會(huì)(NSERC)科研基金項(xiàng)目。陳教授與中國(guó)學(xué)者有廣泛交流與合作。
