報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介：易泰山教授于1999 年和2004 年分別獲湖南大學(xué)應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)士學(xué)位和博士學(xué)位。2006年9月至2008年8月先后在加拿大西安大略大學(xué)(Western Ontario University)、勞瑞爾大學(xué)(Wilfrid Laurier University)及約克大學(xué)(York University)做博士后。2005起先后在湖南大學(xué)、中南大學(xué)、中山大學(xué)任教，現(xiàn)為中山大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)院(珠海)教授、博士生導(dǎo)師。主要從事泛函微分方程、反應(yīng)擴(kuò)散方程、動(dòng)力系統(tǒng)及其應(yīng)用方面的研究，已在 SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, Journal of Differential Equations, Proc. R. Soc. Lond. Ser. A、J. Dynam. Differential Equations 等國際著名刊物發(fā)表論文三十余篇。主持了5 項(xiàng)國家自然科學(xué)基金項(xiàng)目和1項(xiàng)湖南省杰出青年基金，2008年入選教育部新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才支持計(jì)劃。

報(bào)告摘要：In this talk, we develop a new method to study the symmetry and monotonicity of solutions to elliptic equations. To be precise,we introduce concepts of separable functions in balls and in the whole space,and then investigate the qualitative properties of separable functions.
