5月29日上午11：10，長沙理工大學(xué)化學(xué)與生物工程學(xué)院副院長曹忠教授在2011年化學(xué)工程與先進(jìn)材料國際學(xué)術(shù)會議（CEAM 2011）大會上做了題為《Some Industrial Application of Chemo/bio-sensors》的主題報告（Keynote Speech）。報告會在長沙市五華大酒店湘江廳舉行，長沙理工大學(xué)副校長付宏淵教授、長沙理工大學(xué)科技處處長劉永樂教授、美國紐約州立大學(xué)（State University of New York at Binghamton，USA）鐘傳建教授、澳大利亞詹姆斯庫克大學(xué)（James Cook University，Australia）何英和教授、中科院大連化學(xué)物理研究所孫立賢教授、中科院長春應(yīng)用化學(xué)研究所/長沙理工大學(xué)化學(xué)與生物工程學(xué)院院長曹學(xué)強(qiáng)教授、湖南師范大學(xué)化學(xué)化工學(xué)院院長尹篤林教授、湖南大學(xué)化學(xué)化工學(xué)院向建南教授、長沙理工大學(xué)化學(xué)與生物工程學(xué)院常務(wù)副院長楊道武教授等出席了報告會，共有來自美國、英國、德國、日本、中國等15個國家和地區(qū)的500多名化工和材料方面的專家學(xué)者參加了報告會。
首先，由大會共同主席孫立賢教授介紹了曹忠教授的工作經(jīng)歷及研究成果情況。隨后，曹忠教授介紹了一些新型化學(xué)/生物傳感器，包括離子選擇性電極（ISE）、石英晶體微天平（QCMs）、聲學(xué)傳感器和陣列、嗅覺模擬、聲發(fā)射分析化學(xué)、光學(xué)生物芯片及微/納米生物傳感系統(tǒng)、無線生物傳感技術(shù)在環(huán)境、食品、醫(yī)藥行業(yè)和相關(guān)工業(yè)領(lǐng)域的應(yīng)用。曹忠教授介紹了該領(lǐng)域的最新研究成果，受到了與會專家學(xué)者的高度興趣和關(guān)注。
通過這次國際學(xué)術(shù)會議，加強(qiáng)了與國內(nèi)外專家學(xué)者的交流，開闊了眼界，增長了見識，擴(kuò)大了化學(xué)與生物工程學(xué)院在國內(nèi)外的影響，對于促進(jìn)學(xué)院科學(xué)研究與學(xué)科建設(shè)等工作具有重要意義。

Abstract:
Chemo/bio-sensors for various ions and molecules have seen increased interests in the world. In this presentation, some applications of chemo/bio-sensors including ion-selective electrode (ISE), quartz crystal microbalance (QCMs), acoustic sensor and array, olfactory mimicking, chemical acoustic emission analysis, optical biochip and micro/nano-biosensing system, wireless bio-sensing system in environmental, food, medical industries and related fields were discussed.
Brief biography:
Prof. Zhong Cao, born in 1969, received his Ph.D. from College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan University in 1997. After graduation, he joined the Department of Chemistry, Changsha University of Electric Power, as a Lecturer.
From Oct. 1998 to Jun. 1999, he worked in Department of Polymer Chemistry, National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research (NIMC), Agency of Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Japan, as a postdoctoral researcher.
From Jun. 1999 to Jun. 2001, he obtained a fellowship from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and joined Department of Material Science, Toyohashi University of Technology, as JSPS researcher.
From Jul. 2001 to Apr. 2003, he worked in Functional Genomics Center, Department of Research & Development, Life Science (LS) Group, Hitachi, Ltd., Japan, as a guest researcher. From May 2003 to Aug. 2004, he changed his job and worked in Life Science Research Center, Central Research Laboratory (CRL), Hitachi, Ltd., Japan, as a guest researcher.
Since Sept. 2004, he worked in School of Chemistry and Biological Engineering, Changsha University of Science and Technology, as a Professor in 2007. He was awarded “Guest Professor” of Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2009, and “New Century Excellent Talents in University, Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China” in 2010.
Till now, He has published more than 150 scientific papers, 8 patents, and 1 book. His research interests include chemo/bio sensors, materials chemistry, industrial analysis, food safety inspection, and analytical instruments.
